EU funding for sports infrastructure

SLOVENIA, December 23 - The aim of the project is to support the renovation of an old and outdated sports facility in a degraded urban area and modernise recreational infrastructure. The investment will enhance the functionality and safety of the sports facility and allow for more efficient use of urban space, thus improving the quality of life in the local community.

The makeover will include:

  • Reconstruction of the existing 5,500 square metre sports facility.
  • Well-designed, properly built drainage system.
  • Installation and maintenance of modern sports surfaces and new urban equipment.

The total amount of eligible costs for the implementation of the project amounts to €1,157,984.65. The project will receive €984,286.95 from the European Union; the relevant national contribution will amount to €173,697.70.

The project will be implemented by the Urban Municipality of Slovenj Gradec in the framework of Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 under priority Sustainable development of local areas.
